Regular Board Meeting
August 10, 2026
8:00 cdt/7:00mdt
The meeting was called to order by Daniel Stehlik at 8:07 pm cdt. The following board members were present:
Connie Moore, Daniel Stehlik, Mike Littlefield, Bill Breuttner, Communication Secretary Melissa Nicholson, Dallas Henry, Scott Schanaman, Isaac Brinkaw, John Wallace, Al Weeder
The following education committee members were present:
Randy Saner, Kelly Bruns, Ivan Rush
Secretary Report: There were no corrections to the July 13, 2026 minutes as emailed out. Motion to accept secretaries report by Scott and seconded Bill. Motion carried.
Treasurers Report: Balances: Regular Checking: $no report, PayPal: $155.78, Petty Cash: $131.94 and Youth Fund of $1395.00. Motion by Isaac to approve the treasurer’s report and seconded by Connie. Motion carried. Bills: There were no bills presented.
Membership Report: Total of 62 members both sheep and goats (adult and youth). No new sponsorship.
Media Report: there was a little drop-off since last report.
Old Business:
- Tasting and Activity Station at State Fair: Scott and Becky, Daniel, Dallas and Bill offered to help set up and serve the tasting on one day. Others will help out on Sunday. Scott and Becky will purchase at least 10# of leg of lamb. We will also have goat cheese to serve. Dallas has offered a leg of lamb. Connie and Melissa will have items for the activity station.
- Starter Flock report – Scott reported that we were not successful with the grant and he is going to visit with someone from the committee to possibly find out what our grant needed to be successful.
- Fall Conference: Randy and Kelly talked about the agenda for the Fall Conference and who has agreed to the tours and be speakers. Randy is going to check on the fairground building to have the conference. Discussion was held about the cost of the conference. Ideas were also mentioned to have AFAN and the American Grazing Collection as well as a representative from ASI to attend.
- The MARC production sale has been cancelled but the Ram Sale. The NSGP will not need to serve the meal.
- No other old business.
New Business:
- Aksarben representative – The Challenge exhibitors will be showing on September 26th. Bill will be there to representative the NSGP and possibly take pictures. Other board members may be in attendance also.
- The State Fair birthing pavilion had requested a $1000 donation but the organization felt they were not in a financial position to donate at this time. Connie will send the reply to person requesting the donation.
- Connie and Melissa will take materials to State Fair to be displayed for Scrapie. It was also brought up that a case of scrapie has been found in the slaughter channel in Oregon.
- Melissa made a motion to accept Isaac Brunkow’s resignation from the board with sincere regret and Connie seconded. Motion carried. We wish Isaac the best in the future and will miss his input on the board.
- No other new business.

Motion by Connie to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Bill. Motion carried.
