Our hearts go out to the families and communities affected by the record-breaking wildfires that have swept across parts of Nebraska in recent days. For many producers, these fires have brought sudden loss, uncertainty, and difficult days ahead as they assess damage to land, livestock, fencing, and facilities.
For producers, the impact of a wildfire goes far beyond the physical damage. The emotional toll of seeing years of work affected in a matter of hours can be heavy. It is important to remember that taking care of your mental health is just as important as rebuilding fences or restoring pasture. No one should have to carry that burden alone.
The Nebraska Sheep & Goat Producers community is built on producers supporting one another, especially in challenging times like these. Many of our members may be facing the difficult task of rebuilding pastures, replacing infrastructure, and caring for animals after the fires.
If you are an NSGP member who has been affected by the wildfires, we would appreciate hearing your story. Understanding what our members are experiencing helps our organization stay connected and identify ways we may be able to support producers during recovery.
Please reach out and share your experience with us. Our thoughts are with all those impacted, and we are wishing safety, strength, and support to the producers and communities working through the aftermath. 🐑🐐🔥
