Jacob and his family raise 160 commercial ewes near Ceresco Nebraska.

“Our goal is to raise the highest quality lamb meat possible.”

About Me

I am Jacob Gramlich from Ceresco, NE. I am a fourth generation sheep producer. I am a full time mechanic. Work part time maintaining a limo bus line out of Lincoln. Then I run my own mechanic business repairing older tractors/ farm equipment, and small engines. Then work on the sheep farm the rest of the time.

My Dad (Steve), Sister (Abby), and I have about a 160 ewe flock. Our goal is to raise the highest quality lamb meat possible. We typically lamb the last half of February into March. Then we feed the lambs out to market weight and sell at the sale barn. We also sell lambs straight to the ethnic community. Once lambs are weaned the ewes stay in dry lot until they are sheared and when pasture is ready, we will turn ewes out there for the summer. Then in the fall we turn rams out and once crops are harvested, we will turn ewes out on cornstalks and bean stubble and then the process starts over again.

I have been part of The Nebraska Sheep and Goat Producers Association essentially my whole life. Learning and growing from the knowledge gained from NSGP and in practice in the raising of quality lamb.
